TRANSAS GROUP
Transas Group (TRANsport SAfety Systems) was founded in 1990 as a developer and supplier of safety systems in marine industry. It is to Transas that the international shipping industry owes the appearance of electronic chart systems and many other breakthrough innovations.
Today Transas is one of the world leading developers and suppliers of a wide range of shipboard electronics, navigation and aviation simulators, and also integrated safety systems for sea and air transport. Transas Group competence extend from software development through hardware engineering, project management and system integration to on-site installations and on-going support.
The company’s business is truly international with distributor and service network in more than 120 countries. By 2007 Transas Group annual turnover exceeded USD 160 000 000 and number of employees all over the world is coming up to 2000 people. All Transas employees are governed by company’s strategy that is defined by a clear and simple statement – “Transas. Sets the Standard”. The company annual growth is estimated as 20-25% per year.
Such rapid growth has been achieved through organic investment and development of 3 main spheres of competence: Marine, Aviation and… Edutainment. It is true that the real-time graphic, interactivity and motion base system technology were developed originally for the mainstream marine and aviation simulation industry but, it is also true that in recent years IT has been applied increasingly to entertainment and educational purposes.
The idea of this application emerged during Transas international exhibitions. It was the vessel and flight simulators which caused the greatest excitement at Transas booths. Sometimes the situation was even under control - everyone who passed through the booth wanted to experience the sensations beyond reach in the every day life. Thus Trans-Force appeared!
